POSITION SUMMARY
Support actuarial functions by applying quantitative skills and analytical methods. Take full ownership of assigned projects and potentially act as project team lead. Leverage more advanced technical skills to achieve business solutions and demonstrate solid understanding of business and product processes.

Fundamental Components/Job Description: Management of Resources- Manage personal and team resources efficiently to complete projects. Exhibit innovative use of resources. - Scope of Decision Making Authority- Provide input into decision making process. Exercise decision making within scope of authority. - Staffing/ Personnel- May supervise 1-2 staff. Provide direction to staff, as appropriate. May have input into performance management, staffing and compensation related decisions. Act as mentor to newer or less experience sta - Aetna Way- Exhibit behavior that reflects Aetnas values and is in accordance with the Aetna Way. - Assumptions & Data Sources- Demonstrate understanding of existing data sources and translate into appropriate assumptions and functional business information. Identify/suggest alternatives/improvements. - Programs, Policies & Processes- Demonstrate understanding of intradepartmental products, programs, processes and policies; identify and research problems and issues. - Regulatory Issues- Demonstrate understanding of regulatory compliance issues. - Risk Assessment- Work with supervisor to understand the nature of specific risks. Share results of analysis with management. - Rate Filing- Compile and analyze filing data. Prepare and submit necessary exhibits for regulatory filings. - Reserve Analysis- Analyze claim data and monitor reserve levels for appropriateness. Demonstrate understanding of actuarial reserving techniques and issues. - Planning & Forecasting- Provide technical support and analysis for planning, forecasting and reporting process. - Pricing, Trend & Benefit Design- Develop and recommend pricing and trend for product and/or services. - Understand and communicate financial impact to supervisor. - Use of Technology- Develop creative technical solutions to a variety of problems. Demonstrate spreadsheeting proficiency and familiarity with database and web-based applications. - Development & Implementation- Develop and implement appropriate tools and models. - Maintenance & Enhancements- Recommend, implement and oversee maintenance development of enhancements to processes, tools and systems. Make suggestions to maximize efficiency. - Business Specifications- Develop and finalize business requirements and/or specifications for processes, tools, and systems. - Testing- Test and oversee changes to processes, tools and systems.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:
Excellent Microsoft Power Point, Excel and Word skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Time efficient and highly organized
Vigorous attention to detail.
Robust problem solving/solution techniques.
Customer service experience preferred.


EDUCATION
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
