Bristol General Contractors, LLC is seeking a junior level Project Engineer at Fort Gillem, GA (Atlanta, GA area) local to the area.ÂÂThe Project Engineer receives authority and is directly responsible to the Senior Project Manager and Superintendent. The Project Engineer is to participate in the planning and execution of a construction project as part of the project team. The Project Engineer shall assist in planning, coordinating and performing the activities concerned with the construction of structures, facilities, and systems of a project in conjunction with the PM and per the major responsibilities described.

Major Responsibilities
Study Contract Documents to thoroughly understand scope of work and explain plans and contract requirements to administrative and field staff.
Participate in site pre-planning meeting. Review scope of work in detail. Review and discuss any special job requirements. Discuss the schedule and participate in a comprehensive review of the Job Schedule. Discuss methods for interval planning (i.e., daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, etc.), review forms and reporting methods.
Be responsible for the management of a variety of project documentation, including, but not limited to, processing and review of submittals and writing and coordinating of RFIs.
Assist with and/or be responsible for coordination of work activities and other project requirements with Owner, consultants, subcontractors and other entities.
Receive, distribute, and update production sheets for cost loaded P6 schedules per customer, for monthly earned revenue reports per project.
Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, schedule conflicts, and construction problems.
Confer with the Superintendent in order to take appropriate actions to deal with the results of delays, bad weather, or emergencies at the construction site that impact production and revenue.
Attend and / or generate agendas & minutes for weekly job site meetings and maintain / revise interval planning requirements to satisfy job conditions. Assist Superintendent with evaluation of changes and discuss impact on job completion. Assist in review and updating of the project schedule with Project Manager and Superintendent and assist in the evaluation of effects of changes on the project work plan.
Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with the Contract Documents, building and safety codes, and other requirements and regulations.
Review job charges (Material, Sub-contract, Equipment Rental, Labor, etc.) to assist Superintendent and PM.
Participate in the investigation of damages, accidents, or delays at construction sites.
Insure all Close-out documents for the project are complete and timely with Superintendent and Quality Control coordination.
Confirm all required documentation has been submitted / provided to the Owner.

Education
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Construction Management. Experience may be substituted on a year for year basis in lieu of education.
Experience
Minimum of two years recent experience on commercial/industrial construction projects.
Special Requirements/Certifications
Must be a United States of America citizen with a clean background to perform work in a secure facility.
Ability to read and comprehend construction documents.
Proficient with MS Excel and Word.
Ability to monitor and review information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems and control resources.
Strong interpersonal skills to assist and communicate with staff, subcontractors, and clients.
Demonstrated ability to write in a clear and concise manner.
Ability to prioritize and organize, work well under stress, meet deadlines.
Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings and other structures.
Ability to identify problems and review related information to assist in development and/or evaluate options for solutions.
Ability to perform tasks in a safe and responsible manner.
Familiarity with MS Project or Primavera is a plus.

Physical Requirements
Medium physical workload.
Employee must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
Required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as viewing a computer terminal and extensive reading.
Specific physical requirements include, but are not limited to, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, walking, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing and performing repetitive motions.

The worker is subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions, noise sufficient to cause the worker to shout. The worker is subject to a variety of physical conditions proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electric current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
The worker is subject to atmospheric conditions fumes, odors, dusts, mist, gases or poor ventilation.
