      JOB REQUIREMENTS

      Education:

      Prefer candidate with two plus years post-high school education in maintenance and/or purchasing. Knowledge of basic engineering, electronics, hydraulics and pneumatics and fabrication principles. Familiarity with computerized maintenance management and/or inventory systems and purchasing.

      Experience:

      Prefer candidate with 3-5 years' experience in plant maintenance or a manufacturing environment, including 1-2 years purchasing experience.

      Skills:

      • Ability to communicate effectively with others throughout the company
      • Must be able to read, write, and communicate in the English language
      • Understanding of mechanical and electrical operation of production equipment and basic understanding of maintenance principles and tools. Management Skills:
      • Ability to supervise employees, provide work direction and follow-up to ensure desired results; ability to conduct performance reviews, hire, train, etc.

      JOB COMPLEXITY

      Relationships:

      Internal: Primary contact with maintenance, production and engineering to solve plant maintenance problems, e.g. replacement parts, part shortages, etc. and provide information on cost, availability and alternatives. Provide work direction to Maintenance Inventory Purchasing Clerks, Maintenance Materials Coordinator and other personnel as assigned.

      External: Work with vendors to order parts, negotiate prices and expedite delivery of replacement parts; investigate better products, pricing or services.

      Problem Solving:

      1. Must ensure adequate supply of replacement parts to repair "down" or preventive maintenance requirements on equipment.
      2. Must locate high quality supplies and alternatives at low cost.
      3. Determine risk vs. capital holding costs for plant parts inventory.

      JOB ACCOUNTABILITY

      Work Structure: Works under general guidance of Maintenance Manager. Organizes own work, priorities and schedule according to existing tasks and priorities.

      Responsibilities: Provide correct type and quantities of materials for the installation and repair of equipment; provide input into material selection decisions; implement and maintain an accurate supplies purchasing and inventory system; supervise parcel shipping and receiving traffic; errors may result in production downtime or project completion delays.
