Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) is seeking a Senior Director for its Public Affairs team. They will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the PhRMA-branded media campaign efforts, particularly focused on digital, email and social channels. The Senior Director coordinates with all departments to develop and manage the digital strategy, creative development, and environmental performance reporting in support of PhRMA’s issue priorities.
The Senior Director will:
- Oversee paid media and organic content strategy and development across digital platforms to achieve PhRMA’s advocacy objectives.
- Lead and manage the email sending strategy including CRM data management, messaging development and audience segmentation.
- Proactively identify optimization opportunities, including continuous testing of ad copy and landing pages, including A/B testing and review/analyze results.
- Monitor and manage web development and website infrastructure.
- Manage campaigns and ensure they’re meeting defined objectives.
- Lead the development of meaningful analytics and reporting to monitor and show progress against organizational goals.
- Maintain knowledge of the digital landscape and evolving paid media trends, consulting public affairs colleagues on the best channels, tactics and digital-first content to persuade target audiences.
- Manage consultant relationships to support digital paid media programs; and
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Professional Experience / Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Communications, Advertising/Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism or related field.
- Minimum of 8+ years of relevant professional experience within corporate, government, public relations/marketing/advertising agency, or advocacy organization.
- Experience working or familiarity within platforms including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter/X, Instagram, Google AdWords, Google Analytics, Facebook Business Manager, Instagram Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Twitter/X Ads.
- Deep knowledge and passion for technology, digital marketing and innovation.
- Expertise in past and current digital marketing and technology trends.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple issues, team members, projects, tasks and information/requests.
- Proven organizational and project management skills.
- Experience managing consultants.
- Collaborative team player who also can work independently and be a self‐starter, take initiative, and set priorities.
Potential Salary
$141,100-197,600 per annum. Salary is commensurate with experience and other compensable factors.
